The Bare Feet Projects Manifesto

A statement of how we think, work, and show up — rooted in the belief that better projects start with people.

This is the foundation of everything we do.

Why we exist

Bare Feet Projects exists to make projects possible.

Not by adding layers of process, paperwork, or noise — but by helping people find clarity, confidence, and momentum in the work they care about.

We believe projects fail far more often because people feel overwhelmed, unsupported, or constrained by process than because the work itself is impossible.

We exist to challenge that.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to help people deliver meaningful work in a way that feels achievable, human, and proportionate.

Sometimes that work is small, early-stage, or still taking shape.
Sometimes it's complex, constrained, or operating within formal governance.

In every case, our role is the same:
To bring just enough structure to create progress, and just enough freedom to let good ideas breathe.

What we believe

We believe good project delivery is not about rigid frameworks or heroic effort.

It's about creating the conditions where people can do their best work.

That means:

  • clear intent

  • shared understanding

  • honest conversations

  • simple structures

  • confidence to move forward, even when everything isn’t perfect

We believe delivery should feel steady — not stressful.

Our Principles

These principles guide every decision we make, especially when trade-offs arise.

People Before Process

Projects succeed when people feel supported, trusted, and capable. Process exists to serve delivery — not the other way around.

Progress Beats Perfection

Waiting for the perfect plan often means nothing moves. Momentum, learning, and practical steps forward matter more.

Clarity Over Complexity

Complexity is rarely a sign of rigour. Clear thinking, simple plans, and shared understanding create momentum.

Learning Is Continuous

Every project teaches something. We believe in reflection, improvement, and leaving teams stronger than we found them.

Outcomes Over Outputs

Documents don’t deliver change — people do. We focus on progress and impact, not box-ticking.

Transparency Builds Trust

Open conversations, visible decisions, and honest reporting reduce risk and build confidence.

How we show up

We don’t arrive with pre-packaged answers or one-size-fits-all solutions.

We listen first.

We work alongside teams, not above them.

We adapt our approach to the context, constraints, and culture of each environment.

Sometimes that means working lightly and informally.
Sometimes it means operating comfortably within structured governance and assurance frameworks.

In both cases, our aim is the same:
To help people move forward with confidence.

The work we care about

We are drawn to work that matters — work that solves real problems, supports real people, and creates tangible value.

That might be:

  • a founder turning an idea into something real

  • a small team trying to regain control of delivery

  • an organisation navigating complexity, change, or constraint

Scale and setting matter less than intent.

What we leave behind

Our goal is not to create dependency.

We aim to leave people:

  • clearer about what needs to happen next

  • more confident in their ability to deliver

  • better equipped to face future challenges

If a project moves forward and the team feels stronger because we were there, we’ve done our job.

Better Projects Start With People

This belief underpins everything we do.

It shapes how we think, how we work, and how we measure success.

If this resonates, we’re likely to work well together.
